CF Marché des Promenades promotes local production through various services such as a healthy grocery store, retail shops, as well as several restaurants and snack bars. The project was designed as a space to host a variety of fresh products, restaurants and culinary delights to discover and share. A unique way to celebrate our land and heritage with the best that Montréal, the Montérégie, the Eastern Townships and the rest of Québec have to offer.

The new business concept is transforming an existing infrastructure built at the end of the 1970s. The original building housed several retails chains and underwent several modifications over the years. The project, which includes a major renovation, enables 1,000,000 ft² of commercial and event space.

The reuse of the main structure, with a seismic retrofit enabled a complete transformation of the exterior envelope. The introduction of skylights in the main market space and installation of a new polished concrete slab brightens the existing typology. The design’s prioritization of flexible spaces allows easy adaptation by different tenants, many of whom have chosen to work with us for further development of their individual spaces.

The intent of adding a food and lifestyle centric function to the shopping centre was to provide a vibrant space to the community which could include additional activities outside the normal shopping activity. The centre of the market includes a chef’s demonstration kitchen that attracts visitors.  An outdoor plaza connects the complex to the public space and allows for seasonal and weekend events like farmer's markets and concerts.

The early project decision to renovate the existing building is inherently sustainable. The idea of the food-centric offering was to attract and gather local businesses who they themselves have sustainable practices built into their offering. Avril is a Quebec independent healthy supermarket chain that offers 100% natural products. Saint Houblon is a microbrasserie with an onsite production facility who produce their own ingredients at their independent farm.
